This introductory wheel-throwing workshop is designed to teach the fundamentals of working with clay – no prior experience is necessary. Students will be introduced to basic types of shapes and construction techniques, as well as the basics of glazing.
Week 1: Intro to Throwing and Class Expectations
Week 2: Refresher on Wheel Throwing
Week 3: Handles, Trimming
Week 4: Handbuilding and Decoration
Week 5: Trimming and finishing up projects
Week 6: Glazing
What you learn:
- Introduction to pottery materials and tools
- Hand-building techniques
-How to use the slab roller
-Wheel-throwing techniques -
Learn to make a mug, bowl, & more.
What you get:
6 pottery classes,
15 lbs of clay, glazes, and hands-on instruction.
