6 Week Homeschool Intro to Stained Glass Series Dates: 01/27/25- 03/03/25
Times: 2-4 pm

Fees: $450
Ages: 14 and up
Week 1 – Introduction to Stained Glass
Students will be introduced to the basics of stained glass, including different types of glass, essential tools, solder, flux, and copper foil tape. Emphasis will be placed on safety when working with sharp tools and glass. Students will also get their first experience cutting stained glass pieces.
Week 2 – Begin Soldering: Star Ornament Project
Students will practice glass cutting and grinding while learning to foil-wrap pieces. They will solder their first project—a simple star ornament—and get an introduction to wire-wrapping techniques.
Week 3 – Stained Glass Suncatcher
Students will continue practicing cutting, grinding, foiling, and soldering with a new project: a stained glass suncatcher. They will also learn about patinas, as well as cleaning and polishing finished pieces.
Week 4 – Complete Suncatcher & Begin Final Panel
Students will finish their suncatcher project and begin planning their final stained glass panel. This includes designing, laying out, and cutting the pattern for their custom panel.
Week 5 – Cutting, Grinding & Foil-Wrapping Final Panel
Students will continue working on their final panel, focusing on cutting glass to fit their design, grinding edges smooth, and foil-wrapping pieces in preparation for soldering.
Week 6 – Solder, Polish & Finish Final Panel
Students will solder all pieces of their final panel together, attach hangers, apply patinas, and polish the finished piece to perfection. Each student will leave with a completed, custom-designed stained glass panel.
