Our six week beginners pottery course is an introduction to wheel throwing and working with clay. Over six weekly classes starting on the 17th June you’ll learn the foundations of the ceramic making process, getting to know how clay behaves.
You’ll be guided through the key stages of making, including centring clay on the wheel, throwing simple forms, trimming, and finishing your pieces. Each session builds on the last, helping you develop the core skills needed to start your journey in pottery.
By the end of the course you’ll have created a few handmade ceramic pieces, made by you from start to finish. This class is suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have tried throwing before and would like to improve their technique and confidence on the wheel.
The course runs Wednesday evenings from 6pm–8pm. All class dates are fixed and can’t be amended. Please see our calendar for upcoming courses.
