6/28 Disability Drawing Club with Disabled Cable
About this Event
Disability Drawing Club's June meeting welcomes drag duo Disabled Cable!
DDC holds space for people with disabilities, chronic illness, and mental illness. In this casual meetup, we bond, vent, and commiserate about our shared experiences. Simultaneously, it allows us to be unapologetic about our bodies, and broadens representation of disabled people in drawing.
This safe space welcomes people who identify as disabled, chronically ill, mentally ill, and their caretakers. The club is centered around drawing prompts that open up discussions about our health and wellness.
No drawing experience necessary!
June Guest:
Disabled Cable is a drag show born of rage and sustained by love. We celebrate disabled talent, established and emerging, across LA’s incredible drag scene.
Ground Floor Parking Information:
There is fenced parking lot a few buildings down from Groundfloor on the corner of Glendale and 1st St. If you are able to walk, I recommend parking there. Otherwise, there is free street parking in the residential streets on and around Glendale Blvd. You'll receive an image of a map in the reminder email!
Header Image Description: A feather boa awash in pink and blue hues serves as the background for this flyer. In a mix of purple script and hot pink serif fonts, it says "Disability Drawing Club with Disabled Cable." Below, pink text pops off a light green background to say "Jun 28 11:30 AM at Ground Floor Echo Park. Masks encouraged, Zoom simulcast, no drawing experience required."
