1.All participants must wear their college uniform (This rule is not applicable for the participants of "Act It Out").
2.All participants have to carry their institutional ID cards at all times during the fest.
3.There is no institutional boundary for any team. Members from different institutions can team up to participate in team based segments.
4.Any sign of cheating or using dishonest methods will get you immediately disqualified from the segment.
5.Under all circumstances, the decision of the authority and our honorable judges will be considered final and non-negotiable.
6.Only the students of class XI and XII can participate in this event. Candidates of HSC-2022 are not eligible for participation.

????? ??????: Your time to shine amongst the average Joes has come, spelling experts. Or should we say “Orthographists”? In this solo segment, you can show your ability and hard-earned knowledge regarding this field to the fullest.
1.This will be held in two offline rounds. In the first round, you have to listen to a list of English words and then write down the spelling of those words within a limited amount of time. The words will only be pronounced once.
2.The top 10 highest scorers will proceed to the final round, which will take place in the auditorium of Holy Cross College.
3.The final round is going to be a competitive buzzer-based round where whoever presses the buzzer first, gets the opportunity to answer.
4.Further detailed instructions will be given shortly before the beginning of the segment.

???? ??? ???? : In this engrossing and multidimensional form of debate, you will get the opportunity of exercising your logical reasoning ability and argumentative skills to the fullest. Showcase your talent in this arena by switching your adherence to a certain issue or topic consecutively. A topic/motion will be given to the participants in this event and they will get 3 minutes of time to present their stance for, AND against the given topic/motion. It’s as if you’re representing the two sides of the same coin!

1.This will be a solo segment which will be held in two rounds.
2.Participants will be given a specific topic and a few minutes of preparation time to collect their thoughts about the issue.
3.Then the participants will have to speak in support of and against the given topic.
4.The total time limit is 3 minutes, first half for speaking in favor and second half for speaking against the topic.
5.The top 10 contestants from the first round will move on to the second round, which will be conducted in the same format.
6.Any use of inappropriate language is prohibited.

1.This is a poetry recitation based competition which is a solo segment.
2.The first round of this segment will be a submission based online round. 3.Participants have to recite any of the aforementioned poems and record a video/audio of the recitation. Then they have to submit the file in the registration form given below.
4.The video/audio clip must have a clear sound. Participants cannot edit or artificially alter the sound of the clip. 5.There is no duration limit for the recording.
6.Top 10 selected participants from the submission based first round will proceed to the next round, which will be held in Holy Cross College Auditorium.
7.In the final round, participants will recite in the auditorium.

Well, have you ever wondered about the characters that have been beguiling you back and forth since the very first time you were introduced to them, and are still doing it to this very day? Maybe you have always had that yearning to sneak into the past and become a part of this exclusive charade. So in this massively entertaining segment, you are just about to express yourself as any of the characters from the movies and TV shows mentioned below and act it out!

We are immensely excited to let you know that just to make this segment more enjoyable and entertaining, we are stepping outside the box of our main theme for the fest and letting you choose to embody a character from a vast amount of options!

1.This will be a solo segment.
2.More than one participants are allowed to team up in order to portray their desired scene, but they have to keep in mind that the judgment will be based on individual performances and winners will be awarded individually as well.
3.Participants can wear the apparel of their preferred character. But the costumes and makeup cannot be indecent or inappropriate. Gore and explicit content is prohibited.
4.Swearing or using vulgar terms and phrases are not allowed.
5.Participants can bring their own background soundtrack and props for their performances.
6.Participants have to be careful not to demolish or damage the college property in any way while performing on the stage with their own props.

So get ready to showcase your creativity through writing!

1. Ever since then, I've refrained from looking at my own reflection. It will probably not happen anymore, but why would I take the risk!

1.This is a solo and submission-based segment. There will be only one round.
2.The participants are given four different endings to a story (Note: NOT the beginning). They can choose only one of them, and write the rest of the story accordingly.
3.The word limit for the story is 250.
The story has to be in English. Use of vulgar or inappropriate terms and phrases are not allowed.The story can be from any genre of your choice.
4.Participants have to submit their stories via Google Forms within the specific deadline as a PDF or Doc file.

Embrace the eccentric brilliance of your artistic identity with this ingenious and colourful segment. Wordtoon is a submission based competition. Here, the participants have to choose one from the given captions and create an artwork of that inscription from their unique perspective. It can be an illustration, sketch or painting.

1. It’s a free submission-based Solo Event.
2. Participants have to create their illustrations based on any one of the list of captions we will provide them. There is no specific genre or medium for their artwork.
3. Participants have to fill up a separate form for this segment where they will have to submit their artwork.
4. Colorful and grayscale, both contents are allowed for the submission.
5. Only png, pdf and jpg file format is allowed for the submission.

At the end of it, you’ll come to unravel a mystical never-before-seen world full of exciting surprises! So acquire a magnifying glass and put your sharp wit to work.

1.This will be a team based segment with three members in each team.
2.All the questions will be from the list of books, poems and other literary pieces mentioned above. So participants must read the required works beforehand.
3.The segment will take place in two rounds. The first round will be held online in a Discord server. In the first round, each team will be given a series of clues sequentially within a limited time.
4.The link of the Discord server will be provided via email.
5.When a team solves their first clue, they will be given the second one and so on. 6.After the specific amount of time is over, the teams will not receive any more clues.
7.The top 10 teams from the first round will move on to the final round, which will take place in Holy Cross College campus.
8.In the final round, the teams have to solve clues as well. But they have to physically move around inside the college campus in order to correctly reach the places which their clues indicate.
9.Each team will be accompanied by a volunteer during the rounds to provide clues and guidance.
10.Further instructions will be given shortly before the segment starts.

HCCELC is bringing forth a very intricate and informative segment for the first time ever, for you to exhibit your English skills in not only one– but three different sectors at once. So get ready to show your prowess in this astonishing peregrination.

1.This segment is a team based one. Each team should consist of three members.
2.It will be conducted in three rounds: the first one is a vocabulary round where teams will be given anagrams, word hives, crosswords and other questions related to the topic.
3.Listen very carefully! For the second round is all about testing your English listening skills. In this round, you will be provided with an audio clip which you have to listen to very attentively. After that, you will have to answer different questions based on the audio.
4.In the third round, you will have to put your writing skills to work where you get to answer situational and rather thought-provoking questions.
5.Any use of electronic devices or other methods of cheating will get your team immediately disqualified from the segment.

This vigorous battle is all about exhibiting your vast knowledge of the world of literature by taking part in an intense team based quiz competition.

1.This is a team based segment, and each team will consist of three members.
2.It will be held in two rounds. The first one is a written round where participants have to answer 25/30 questions within a limited amount of time.
3.Top 6 highest scoring teams from the written round will qualify for the stage round, which will be a buzzer round.
4.Any use of personal electronic devices during any of the rounds will instantly make your team disqualified.
5.The questions will be mostly literature and pop culture based with the incorporation of other topics.
6.Any decision of the Quizmasters and the authority should be respected and considered final in inconvenient circumstances.
