The Pat Summitt Clinic was formed through a collaboration between The University of Tennessee Medical Center and the Pat Summitt Foundation, a fund of the East Tennessee Foundation.
Learning Objectives
- Describe and differentiate subtypes of primary progressive aphasia, including differences in symptoms, neuroimaging findings, and underlying pathologies.
- Understand the diagnostic process for patients with memory dysfunction through exploration of the anatomic, physiologic, and psychological aspects of human memory.
- Review diagnosis, prognosis, and treatments for Alzheimer's disease.
- Develop strategies to approach and manage neuropsychiatric symptoms of dementia.
- Utilize a case-based approach to learn the clinical approach to diagnosing and treating patients with cognitive symptoms in a multi-disciplinary memory clinic.

Maria Luisa Gorno Tempini, MD, PhD, is a clinician scientist and the Charles Schwab Distinguished Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco.
Opening Remarks - Kimberly Williams-Paisley
This year's symposium will also feature a special appearance and commentary by Kimberly Williams-Paisley, actress and New York Times Best Selling Author of Where the Light Gets In.
