As you know our annual Reflection Garden on Tap fundraiser event was put on pause last year due to COVID 19. However, as restrictions lessen and vaccinations continue, we are proud to say we will be bringing this event back this year on Saturday, July 24th, from 5pm – 8pm at the City of Aurora’s Water Wise Garden. As is tradition, this event will be FREE for all ages and include 5280 Burger bar’s food truck, musical entertainment by Brushfire, and sidewalk chalk artists. For a donation, guests 21 and over can enjoy beer from Resolute, Launch Pad, and Dry Dock breweries. All proceeds will support our mission to advocate for the long-term healing of survivors and communities affected by mass tragedy.
The chalk art theme for this year’s event is “Frontline Heroes”. We are paying tribute to not only our heroes from 2012, but all of the frontline heroes who have helped us through this pandemic. Many service workers have sacrificed a lot to get communities through a very difficult time and we want to make sure they are all appreciated. Featured chalk artists this year will be:
- Kyle Banister, Randy Segura, Eric Matelski, Tina & Jason Martinez, Megan Lombard, Brittany Pirtle, and Amy Cheslin.
We will also be dedicating the newly installed Paper Crane Peace Box to our beloved Bill Hoover, father of A.J. Boik. The creative spin on the "Little Lending Library" will have origami paper and pens for visitors to participate in our Paper Crane Peace Project.
