ZEBRAS ASSEMBLE!!!*This is open to the public, anyone can join, just know that we WILL get rowdy*
🦓🏒 It's time to get ready for 2025's annual Referee Appreciation Night at the Griffins! Our FIFTH year doing this!!! 🏒🦓
That's right, we get a GIANT group of people together, show up to the game wearing referee shirts...and cheer on the boys in stripes all night long!
🤯 Year 1...we had 40 people in our group
🤯 Year 2...we had over 60!
🤯 Year 3...we had over 80!
🤯 Year 4...OVER 100!!!
We cheer whenever the whistle blows! We'll even get into chanting wars with kids who decide to support the home team. We don't support either team, we only cheer when our refs are involved.
🎉 Offsides whistle? We cheer.
🎉 Icing whistle? We cheer.
🎉 Faceoff? We chant, "DROP. THE. PUCK!" then cheer when the puck hits the ice.
🎉 Penalty? We chant "YOU CAN'T DO THAT" as the player heads to the penalty box. When the penalty is announced we let the refs know we approve by yelling, "GOOD CALL, REF!" and, of course, cheer.
🌭🍺 Also...since we do this on a Friday, it's $2 beer & hot dog night at the game.
