Get ready for the 5th and biggest year of the Phoebus Clean Sweep — our annual celebration of neighborhood pride and teamwork! And we don't just clean up Phoebus, we clean up as far as we can go in 3 hours. We’ll provide all the equipment you need; just bring your enthusiasm, your friends, and your passion for keeping our neighborhoods beautiful. Orientation: 8:30AM at Phoebus Waterfront Park (35 Water Street, just before the bridge to Fort Monroe)
Cleanup: 9AM - 12PM
Afterparty: 12PM - 5PM
At orientation, you'll receive all the gear you need, plus a map of your cleanup route. As a token of our appreciation, you’ll score a FREE commemorative Clean Sweep t-shirt that’s always a crowd favorite!
After cleaning up your route, return at 12PM to the park with your cleanup equipment and join us for a festive waterside afterparty featuring a live DJ, delicious food trucks, and refreshing beverages as you overlook picturesque Mill Creek. We'll also hold an exciting new event that afternoon, the Derby Dash, which will allow kids and adults to compete in thrilling bounce-ball races on the park's lawn area in celebration of the upcoming Kentucky Derby!
Last year, the Clean Sweep cleaned far outside Phoebus: our volunteers actually cleared litter from an area the size of Central Park in NYC. This year we’re doing it even bigger!
