5th Annual Philly Village Building Convergence (Night 2)

Philadelphia City Repair Project is a non-profit organization that works to help community groups and individuals to transform their neighborhoods by reclaiming public space. We believe in creating and supporting environments that foster community, art, and ecology that are made by the people who live in them.

Each year we host our largest event, the Philly Village Building Convergence (Philly VBC). Through a city-wide volunteer effort and a wide range of partnerships between community organizations, grassroots groups, and individuals, the Philly VBC is brought to life! At its root, Philly VBC is about community building and seeing the strength and beauty of collective action.

The fifth annual Philly VBC is scheduled to take place June 9th - 11th. Over the course of the weekend, a dozen community-designed beautification projects will be installed across the city. Volunteers are invited to participate in bringing these projects to life, which have been funded by PCRP. Each project offers an educational opportunity to learn more about urban gardening, design and construction, ecological building, and public art.

On the evening of Saturday June 10th we will be gathering at Open Kitchen Sculpture Garden (2241 N Philip St) to continue the Village atmosphere and celebrate our city-wide volunteer efforts from the day. There will be speakers, workshops, vendors, DJs, live performances, drinks, plant swaps, and food. Join us as we party with our community for a night filled with dancing, learning, and love.
