The Cathedral Women of Christ Church Cathedral will host the 57th Annual Strawberry Festival on Thursday, June 8 on Monument Circle! The original strawberry shortcakes will be offered for sale from 9 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., or until supplies run out. The “Works” costs $10 for a treat of homemade shortcake, strawberries, ice cream and whipped topping. Single items are again available for purchase. Strawberries and ice cream are $3 each and shortcakes and whip are $2 each. Cash and card are accepted. Bulk and pre-sale order links will go live on Thursday, May 25.
As always, all proceeds beyond the costs of the festival go directly to charity. In years past, the Cathedral Women have supported dozens of organizations around Central Indiana with their Strawberry Festival Grants. Recent grantees include El Sistema Indianapolis, Outreach Inc., Brightlane Learning, Alternatives Incorporated, Coburn Place, and Indiana Women in Need Foundation (IWIN).
The Cathedral community welcomes the improvements happening on Monument Circle that continue to make our city a vibrant destination for both our residents and guests. The Soldiers and Sailors Monument will be under construction through the summer, so festival goers should anticipate a slightly altered event layout. The North steps of the monument will be closed. Entertainment will be offered from the Cathedral’s lawn and the South steps of the monument will be available for those who do not wish to use the provided tables.
