The 2022 NMSU Jazz Jumpstart is a festival of jazz concerts and education It is the only place for school bands to get a 'jumpstart' on their jazz season on November 10th and 11th. Featuring world renowned Terell Stafford and Raffy Bushman as guest clinicians and performers, this Jazz Jumpstart will be a positive experience for any band. In addition, we'll have guest clinicians from the region: Christian Chesanek, bass, Brian Wright, drums, and Josh Carter, tenor saxophone. This year, we'll be premiering FIVE new big band arrangements. Over a dozen bands come each season with four in person concerts taking place in only two days! In addition to the NMSU Jazz Ensembles there will be performances by local big bands and a combo set featuring the guest artists.Free for students.
$5 tickets available for the general public at jazz.nmsu.edu
