The 5280 Swap Meet is coming Saturday, September 27, 2025, to the Heritage Lakewood at Belmar Park. This is a Colorado Front Range landmark event and a first for the Colorado Front Range.

A PROJECT AND VISION WITH PURPOSE

La Familia and our 5280 Swap Meet team, sponsors, and community partners are proud to see this vision come to fruition and bring it to the Gente of Colorado in 2025 as we begin the first phase of a 3-year building plan. The 5280 Swap Meet celebrates the Rocky Mountain Region Chicano and Native shared culture, traditions, and blood connection and marks the beginning of a new Colorado people of color tradition. Our history and our story are rich and honorable. SOMOS!

OUR COMMUNITY PURPOSE

The 5280 Swap Meet will also bless kids and families as the event has evolved into one big community Christmas fundraising event that will assist a network of small ministries, non-profit organizations, outreach ministries, small churches, recreation centers, and members of the Chicano custom car and biker communities to bless families in their communities during the 2025 Christmas season. All event net proceeds will go back into communities to help families, single parents, and grandparents raising kids this Christmas in Brighton, CO, Commerce City, CO, Denver, CO, Pueblo, CO, and on down to Rocky Ford and the La Junta, Manzanola, and Las Animas, CO areas.

WE WANT KIDS TO SEE WHAT THE 5280 HAS TO OFFER THEM

In order to make the educational and cultural elements of the Calle Cultura Culture Festival as accessible as possible to kids and families, we are providing 400 free tickets for children who are 12 years old and younger. These will be hard copy tickets that will be distributed in communities across Colorado, but primarily in the Denver area. Free tickets will be limited to 3 tickets per family. To receive free kids tickets, send your request to [email protected] and provide the names and ages of each child you are requesting tickets for in your request. We only ask that if you request and receive tickets that you use them so that they do not go to waste. For questions, call 720-671-3151 or email us at [email protected]

WHAT TO EXPECT

The September event will consist of five components that will be presented during a day time culture festival event and an evening concert event.

The day event will feature the "Calle Cultura" Culture Festival, the Impala's Car Club Car Show, the Mile High Rider Viclas event, the Toys-In-Da-Hood 5280 Poker Run, and the Youth Mural Art Exhibit. Gates for the day event open at 11:00 AM, with activities running from noon to approximately 4:00 PM. Included in the Culture festival will be artistic expressions in art, music, dance, education, and tradition that represent the Chicano and Native cultures and traditions.

The evening event is the Latin Jam 5280 Old School Concert featuring the "Dedicated To You" Tribute to Brentoon Wood and the All-National music lineup listed below. The Latin Jam 5280 Old School Concert goes from 4 PM to 10 PM. Gate access to the amphitheater starts at 3 PM. To the Gente de Colorado, take ownership, this is being built for you.

FEATURED ATTRACTIONS

The “Calle Cultura” Culture Festival will feature art, exhibits, dancing, and music that represent expressions of Chicano and Native culture. The Kid’s Zone will feature the Youth Mural Art Exhibit. This is an artist and children's interactive mural painting project whose popularity has not failed in its appeal to families because of its positive educational value, and its positive impact on children who participate or on older youth who take part in leadership positions in staging the exhibit. The Kid’s Zone will also feature Face Painting and kids' games.

The Calle Cultura Stage and fairway will feature the LA, CA Ambassador of Chicano Soul music, Ms. Elvia Cadena, Denver's premier Chicano Soul and Old School group Latin Sol, the “Abraxas” Santana Tribute Band, while the fairway will feature Grupo Tlaloc Danza Azteca, The Rocky Mountain Indigenous Dancers, Folklorico Cultura Dance Group, and Mariachi Juvenil Bryant Webster.

The Latin Jam 5280 Old School Concert will feature an ALL-STAR LEGENDS LINEUP featuring the "Dedicated To you" Tribute to Brenton Wood featuring Aki Starr and the Doo Wops, Ms. Kreo Rowlette, along with long time Brenton Wood compadre, DJ Thinline. Then comes the Legends, Harold Melvin's Blue Notes (" Wake Up Everybody" "The Love I Lost", "Hope That We Can Be Together Soon"), the Rick James Stone City Band ("Mary Jane", "Give It To Me Baby", "Super Freak"), and Jr. Walker's All Stars ("Shotgun", "What Does It Take", "These Eyes".)
