52 Hike Challenge San Diego - National Trails Day hike - Torrey Pines

About this Event

Come join the co-authors of as we guide you along one of two hikes through the iconic Torrey Pines. Both groups will meet at the Torrey Pines Beach Parking area in front of the restrooms. You can park on the street if there are spots, or in the parking area, though you do need to pay for parking inside. There will be two hiking options:

Short Version

We will walk up the road to the Guy Fleming Trail head and follow it, then continue on to the Parry Grove Trail and the EB Scrips Overlook. We will stop by the visitor center before heading back down to the starting point.

DISTANCE: ~3.0 miles round-trip

DIFFICULTY: Moderate

Long Version

We will walk up the road to the Guy Fleming Trailhead, follow it, then continue on the Beach Trail. The hike will descend down to Flat Rock, before climbing back up the Broken Rock Hill Trail until we reach Old Highway 1 and back to our cars.

DISTANCE: 5.5 miles round-trip

DIFFICULTY: Moderate

Map to: Torrey Pines South Beach, South Beach Lot, 12600 N Torrey Pines Rd., La Jolla, CA 92037

Public Transit: Take NCTD Bus Route 101 to North Torrey Pines Road and State Beach Reserve. The entrance to the reserve is immediately south, to the right.
