50th Reunion
Hi everyone.
We’ve been working with Somerville High School to create a memorable 50th Reunion event. You’ll find below a link to register for the Class of 2026 / 1976 Class Day Festivities. Friday, May 29. We’ve been invited to walk in the Class Day walk along Highland Ave and to attend a luncheon held in our honor. Please register!!
Our reunion will continue later that afternoon at a local restaurant TBD. We’re still looking at venues but will soon post the location and ticket price Stay tuned!!

Hello Somerville High Class of 1976

Final Arrangements for our 50th SHS Class of 1976 Reunion have been made and we’re proud to tell you all about it. Our day will take place in two parts. You can participate in both parts, or just the morning event, or just the afternoon event. It’s up to you.

Part 1. SHS Class Day Portion - Somerville High School would like us to gather at the high school at 8:00 am. At 9:00 am we will walk with the class of 2026 into the auditorium for awards and speeches. At this time, we the class of 1976, will be acknowledged as honored guests. After the awards and accolades have been announced, everyone goes outside for the Pledge of Allegiance, the National Anthem, and the “ceremonial” planting of the ivy. (FYI: They no longer plant an ivy, but they will pass the ceremonial spade from the class of 2026 to the class of 2027.) Then they pass on the class colors to the upcoming Freshman class. After the ceremony has been completed, we’ll then be honored with a luncheon. If you’d like to attend this portion of the day, please use this link Class Day 2026-1976 and register by APRIL 10th so the high school can have a head count and be prepared for our attendance. We’re told this even will wind up around 12:30. To give you an idea of how this event will play out, I’ve attached a video of last year’s Class Day.

Part 2. The Reunion Committee Portion – After the SHS Class Day event, we will proceed to a private function room at Avellino’s Restaurant from 1:00-5:00. Avellino’s is located at 313 Mystic Avenue, Medford. NOTE: Avellino’s will assist our party with parking. This event will give us the opportunity to sit, reminisce, and catch up. We’ll be serving Italian appetizers, coffee/tea and desserts. A cash bar will be available for soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.
