Good Morning Class of ’76!We wanted to give you an update on where we are so far with the reunion, so here is what we are working on:
Wednesday, May 20th, 2026
The Alumni Association of FHS, Inc., will be presenting the 2026 Alumni Awards to the Class of 2026, at its Annual Meeting. The event will be held at the “new” FHS, starting at 6:30 p.m., in the auditorium. The Class of 1976 will be recognized that night as the 50th Class, along with the 25th Class, 2001. This has been a tradition for the high school and the Alumni Association for many years. We realize many of you are not local, but for those who are, it is a fun event, and we hope to represent. Class of 1975 had close to 15 classmates attend the event!
Friday, September 11th, 2026
We hope to have a tour of the “old” Fitchburg High School set up late Friday afternoon. More about the tour will be posted at a later date.
Saturday, September 12th, 2026
We are planning on offering a tour of “The Rock”, led by Peter Capodagli, Class of 1968, in the morning, time TBD, followed by our reunion at the Monoosnock Country Club from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The cost of the event will be $76 per person. Classmates will have the option of paying by check, or through direct deposit to our Venmo account at @theburg76. We will be offering a catered meal, music, and a cash bar. Name tags will also be provided.
Sunday, September 13th, 2026
We are planning on offering a brunch at the Knights of Columbus from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Joe Haggerty, Class of 1975, has offered to cook for us in the memory of his brother, Paul. Special thanks to Dan Giacommozzi for inquiring about the availability of the Knights of Columbus for this event.
Lodging Information - Maryellen Thomas O’Brien has graciously offered to assist us with those who must travel, and has agreed to secure overnight accommodations. Here’s Maryellen’s offer to the Class:
Greetings!
If you are planning to attend the our 50th FHS class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 12th, 2026 and will need overnight accommodations, I would be willing to try and negotiate a reduced rate room block at a nearby hotel. I intend to start with the Doubletree Hotel as it is centrally located. I am hopeful we will have enough interest to arrange for a block of rooms at a healthy discounted rate.
If interested, please reply directly to me, your likely arrival and departure dates as well as your interest in brunch/breakfast that we are offering on Sunday at the Knights of Columbus. Responding with your intentions is not a firm commitment, but to negotiate a rate with a hotel I must have some idea of how many hotel nights we might be booking. I will also try to arrange for that the morning after the reunion if enough people are interested. If you have other hotel suggestions, please let me know.
Please reply by January 1st so that I can begin talks with the hotel.
