About this Event
In 5000 Eyes, guests will learn about the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI). DESI is creating the most detailed map of our nearby universe. Installed on the Mayall telescope on Kitt Peak in Southern Arizona, DESI's 5000 independently operated robots can measure the light from thousands of galaxies at once. Join us as we explore the science, instrument, and people behind this global endeavor.
Following this presentation of 5000 Eyes, Steve Davies, our very knowledgeable Program Provider, will host a live unscripted segment focused on the current night skies, which will include information about the summer triangle. Also, a map of the summer skies will be shared with guests to take home.
If you have questions about the event, please email Alison Riordan (Science Curriculum Coordinator, Plymouth Public Schools) at [email protected].
