JOIN US FOR A SPECIAL WEEKEND CELEBRATING THE WOMEN OF THE FALL THROUGH MUSIC, FILM, ART, CONVERSATION, AND COLLABORATION at THE CARLTON CLUB IN WHALLEY RANGE AND THE KAMERA BALLROOM IN CHORLTON.
ACROSS TWO EVENTS IN MANCHESTER, 50 YEARS OF FALLEN WOMEN BRINGS TOGETHER FORMER MEMBERS, COLLABORATORS, ARTISTS, AND FRIENDS CONNECTED TO THE WORLD OF THE FALL FOR A UNIQUE PROGRAMME OF PERFORMANCES AND ONE-OFF APPEARANCES.
The weekend features a specially commissioned film created exclusively for the event, in-conversation sessions with former members and collaborators, and artwork by Suzanne Smith, who designed the official poster.
Appearances include Poppycock featuring original Fall keyboard player Una Baines, alongside the all-female karaoke collective The Fallen Women, collaborative jam sessions and special live appearances from artists including Loose Articles, Glimmerpit, Liines, Miki Beryeni, and more to be announced.
Manchester music history is often very male-focused, so we wanted to shine a light on the amazing women who’ve contributed so much but don’t always get the recognition they deserve. We’re especially excited about bringing generations together, the pioneering women who were there, alongside younger artists inspired by them and by The Fall.
The weekend is packed with live music, conversation, film, and art. It’s going to be a really special celebration at The Carlton Club on 5 September from 6 PM to 11 PM and The Kamera Ballroom on 6 September from 3PM to 7PM
Saturday 5 September The Carlton Club, 113 Carlton Rd, Whalley Range, Manchester M16 8BE (6pm-11pm)
Sunday 6 September The Kamera Ballroom, 617 Wilbraham Rd, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester M21 9AN (3pm-7pm
50 Years of Fallen Women
"A while back I met a creative producer, Paula Greenwood, at a Fall Q+A at the Night and Day in Manchester. We agreed to meet up and chat about an idea she had, which was to put on an event celebrating the creative input and achievements of the women who had been in The Fall. I thought it was a great idea and offered to collaborate straight away." Una Baines
"When I first had the idea last year, I was thrilled to realise it would fall in the same year as The Fall’s 50th anniversary. I wanted to celebrate these incredible women, hear their stories, and highlight their huge creative contributions”. Paula Greenwood
