About this Event
We are bringing John F O’Donnell’s iconic show “50 First Jokes” back to New Orleans this year to launch the new year and celebrate the comedy scene in New Orleans!
For 17 years 50 First Jokes has happened in comedy scenes across the country! “50 Comics. One Mega Show. 1st New Joke of the New Year!” - That’s the logline that defines 50 FIRST JOKES, the very special party show that celebrates the massively talented community of stand up comedians.
50 FIRST JOKES now takes place in 15+ comedy scenes nationwide! Occuring in cities throughout America including New York, Los Angeles, Denver, Austin, Atlanta, and more. This is the only show in Louisiana in addition to the Lafayette show at Club 337 sanctioned by the creators of 50 First Jokes.
The show will be taking place at in The Twilight Room Theatre at The Allways Lounge at 7pm on Friday, January 3rd 2025! Everyone gets exactly 2 minutes and no more. The only requirement is that you tell a NEW & ORIGINAL Joke (No street jokes | Jokes you found online | Jokes you have been workshopping prior to 2025) Please note that we will cap the list at 50 performers. Like last year, comics will go on stage in rounds and perform rapid style. Please be on the lookout for more information after signing up.
