"Empowering Survivors of Domestic Violence, Women, Children and Men in order to Let the Healing Begin" The Duncantell Foundation a California 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing services to victims and survivors of domestic violence.

The Turning Point Author Robert L Jamison, a 34 year healthcare professional and founder of Alternative Healthcare LA bridges the gap between Healthcare and Entertainment with an effort to support The Duncantell Foundation with his book signing event and concert fundraising. Robert Jamison support this cause because as a kid he grew up in a domestic violence home where his step father was a drug addict and always beat him and his Mother.

My stepfather was abusive and manipulative, and occasionally he threaten to K*ll us. As a defensive kid for many years I lived in fear of losing my life as I watch my Mother get beaten from pillow to post, especially when she mentioned or tried to leave my stepfather. But amazingly every time my oldest sibling come to visit he would always change his attitude . At that time I had come to the conclusion and realized that he was just a coward, then I made a commitment to myself when I grow up I would start protecting my mother and in order for him to get to her he would have to come through me.

I don't blame my youngest sister for her father's action because she was just a kid too and wasn't responsible for his abusive behavior toward us. Therefore I am using my story noted in my Book "The Turning Point" and the stage at the Celebrity Centre to encourage Domestic Abuse Victims to Break the Silence and say No To Suicide. There are resources to help you overcome the obstacles of intimidation and threats of your life only to keep you in a abusive and violent relationship.

Please donate to The Duncantell Foundation. The money raised will create opportunities to educate through workshops and other training events with community and industry professionals; in addition to community organizations, as well as city and county institutions that provide Behavioral Health services to the victims for a more rounded experience and greater support system.

The Arthur Lee Duncantell II Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering victims of domestic violence in a way that will inspire self-confidence, build their self-esteem and give them a better quality of life while bringing about awareness to the seriousness of domestic violence. It's inception was inspired by true events of the founder who is a survivor of domestic abuse, yet her son was not. Domestic abuse is a learned behavior that can be unlearned.

The Duncantell Foundation’s mission is to provide support that will prevent all forms of domestic abuse, through treatment, research, education, advocacy and activism while also promoting justice for victims of abuse. In providing support, it will allow the victim to cultivate healthy relationships that are free from domestic abuse and the fear of violence, offer them healing and a renewed sense of self-esteem and worth, as well as enrich and brighten the lives of those who have been affected by domestic abuse. As the victim “Let the Healing Begin,” this will also restore stability to survivors and their families by removing barriers that are created to keep them in abject poverty and abusive situations.
