5 Mile Hike

We'll walk approximately 5 miles along the perimeter trails of the park. We will cross both the Skywalk and the Robert L.B. Tobin Land Bridge and pass by several points of interest such as the Savanna Restoration area, the Wetland corner, our Nature Play Area, Native Plant Wildscape Demonstration Garden, Golden Age art installation, Salado Creek Overlook, the Borrow Pit, and Phil's Tree.
This 5 mile hike covers a variety of walking paths and will take up to two hours to walk, though may finish sooner based on the group. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable close- toed shoes, dress for the weather, and bring water to stay hydrated. We will stop at the Urban Ecology Center building half-way through for water refill and restroom break, before finishing back where we started.
This program is intended for adults and teens who can travel 5+ miles of moderate leveled walking on both paved and natural trails. We will meet around 7:45am by the dog park close to Dutch Bro's Coffee. To respect everyone's time, the group will leave promptly at 8am.
