Welcome to the inaugural 4v4 Lackawanna Coal Cup, happening on August 22, 2026, at McDade Park in Scranton, Pennsylvania! This exciting youth tournament brings together local teams from Lackawanna County and surrounding communities for a full day of fast-paced 4v4 soccer.
The event is open to U9 through U16 boys and girls teams, with separate divisions and Gold and Silver competition tiers where registration allows. All teams will play at least three 20-minute games, with top teams advancing to compete for championship medals. The 4v4 format—four field players with no goalkeepers—maximizes touches, encourages quick decision-making, and gives every player more opportunities to attack, defend, and make an impact.
Players will also have the opportunity to participate in the Lackawanna County Commissioners’ Cup Youth Soccer Skills Competition during the tournament. The on-site competition will feature shooting, dribbling, juggling, passing, and speed challenges for players to enjoy between games.
McDade Park provides a welcoming, family-friendly setting with grass fields, restrooms, concessions, vendors, open space for team tents, and plenty of room for families to enjoy the day.
