For the 4th consecutive year, the Athens Pop Underground Fest and Convention returns—this time in collaboration with the legendary AN Club, where we spent (and continue to spend) some of our best years—on the weekend of May 22 and 23, 2026.
As in previous years, without fanfare or big words, historic bands as well as friends from abroad (perhaps the only event in our country with a steady core of international friends who attend unfailingly) are coming to Greece, guided solely by our mutual respect—musical and personal—and by participation. The festival continues to follow the same model: a living expression of the DIY philosophy that runs through similar events worldwide.
Accommodation costs, instrument and backline rentals are covered, with no involvement from any external sponsors.
Once again, the organizers aim to bring representatives of the most seminal labels in indie pop history—labels that have shaped, and continue to shape, the course of the scene—to foster friendships and strengthen the sense of community, a concept that is increasingly rare today.
Four years in, and despite all challenges, the Athens Pop Underground Fest grows even further. This year it returns to our beloved AN Club for the classic annual gathering, welcoming friends from all corners of the world, with names that—many for the first time—come together in Greece at the same moment and in the same space. The lineup represents, more than ever before, all the landmark labels of indie history.
This year we host the pioneers of the Scottish C86 scene (featured on the NME C86 cassette), Close Lobsters, performing in Greece for the first time. They will present songs from their Fire Records era as well as more recent releases.
The legends of Sarah Records, and now part of our own Old Bad Habits label, Action Painting (appearing at our festival for the second time), will perform highlights from across their career, including songs from their upcoming album.
The Wonky Folk, the new band of Steve Duffield of The Beta Band, promise to enchant you with their psych pop sound. Their debut full length album has just been released, once again by Old Bad Habits.
Representing Northern Greece and Thessaloniki, Convex Model will perform tracks from all three of their albums, adding their electronic touch to the festival.
One of the warmest moments will be the appearance of Love, Burns, the project of Phil Sutton, known to us from Comet Gain. Their new album—officially released on 29/05/2026—will be available throughout the weekend.
As always, the German scene—and specifically Hamburg—will be represented by two bands: the legendary veterans Kristallin, recently reformed, and our beloved Crabber, who continue their energetic journey with their fourth album (Jigsaw Records – Old Bad Habits label).
Sweden will be represented by Lisa Bouvier and her punk pop melodies, joined by former and current members of The Rosehips and The Flatmates. She will perform live for the first time her new track “Streets of Athens”, which we will press on 300 flexi discs to be given out for free to all who attend.
From Bristol, we welcome The Lovely Basement, who have just released their new album to excellent reviews and promise to charm you with their pop folk americana sound.
Our beloved The Yellow Melodies return for their second appearance at the festival, representing southern Spain. With countless releases and a genuine indie pop spirit, they are rightfully our favorite band from the Iberian Peninsula.
The Spanish wave continues with two more bands from the Barcelona coast, sharing some of their members. The Lions Constellation, with their fuzzy shoegaze sound influenced by Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, and others, will present their new album—recently released by our own Make Me Happy Records—alongside earlier work. Lost Tapes, requested by many friends to join this year’s lineup, will enchant you with their pure pop sound as a duo.
The second Greek band this year is our old acquaintances Low Ceiling, impressing everyone at our first festival with their lo fi post punk experimentation. With roots in Aigio, they will gather from three different parts of Europe to present new material as well as older songs.
Closing the festival is the experimental collective The Music Liberation Front Sweden. Founding members Michael, Lisa, and Jay will be joined on stage by members of Action Painting, Kissmatic Lovebubbles, and The Wonky Folk; Tim and Vanessa Vass (Razorcuts, Melons, Silver Biplanes); Dave Musker (Television Personalities, The Jasmine Minks); and Joe Foster Ruiz (Slaughter Joe, Television Personalities, Teenage Filmstars).
Throughout the event there will be merch from the bands, Make Me Happy Records, and—as always—Old Bad Habits label.
On Saturday, a vinyl DJ set party will follow, lasting until the early morning hours.

Για 4η συνεχόμενη χρονιά το Athens Pop Underground Fest and Convention επιστρέφει, αυτή τη φορά σε συνεργασία με το θρυλικό AN club, στο οποίο περάσαμε και περνάμε τα καλύτερα μας χρόνια, το διήμερο 22 και 23 Μάϊου, 2026.

Όπως και τις προηγούμενες χρονιές, χωρίς τυμπανοκρουσίες και μεγάλα λόγια, ιστορικές μπάντες, αλλά και φίλοι από το εξωτερικό (η μόνη ίσως διοργάνωση στην χώρα μας με έναν σταθερό πυρήνα φίλων από το εξωτερικό που δίνει το παρόν ανελλιπώς), έρχονται στην χώρα μας με μοναδικό γνώμονα την μεταξύ μας αλληλοεκτίμηση, μουσική και προσωπική και την συμμετοχή. Η δε διοργάνωση εξακολουθεί να στηρίζεται στον ίδιο μοτίβο, μια έμπρακτη δήλωση της DIY φιλοσοφίας που διαπερνά όλες τις αντίστοιχες εκδηλώσεις σε όλες τις χώρες όπου αυτές λαμβάνουν χώρα: κάλυψη εξόδων διαμονής, ενοικίαση μουσικών οργάνων και backline, χωρίς την ανάμειξη κανενός άλλου χορηγού.
Για μια ακόμα χρονιά δε, η στόχευση των διοργανωτών είναι να έρθουν στην χώρα μας εκπρόσωποι των πιο κεφαλαιωδών labels στην ιστορία της indie – pop, τα οποία έγραψαν – και εξακολουθούν – να γράφουν ιστορία στην πορεία της σκηνής, να δημιουργηθούν φιλίες και να ενδυναμωθεί η αίσθηση της κοινότητας, μιας έννοιας που τείνει να εκλείψει στις μέρες μας.
4peat στις φορές λοιπόν και ξεπερνώντας τις όποιες δυσκολίες, ο θεσμός του Athens Pop Underground Fest μεγαλώνει και άλλο, συγκεντρώνεται ξανά στο αγαπημένο μας AN Club αυτή τη φορά, για την κλασσική ετήσια σύναξη, υποδέχεται φίλους απ’ όλα τα μήκη και πλάτη του κόσμου, με ονόματα που για πρώτη φορά μαζεύονται όλα μαζί στην χώρα μας (κάποιοι έρχονται για δεύτερη φορά), την ίδια στιγμή και στον ίδιο χώρο, παρουσιάζοντας ένα ρόστερ που περισσότερο από κάθε άλλη φορά εκπροσωπεί όλα τα labels – σταθμούς της indie ιστορίας:
Αυτή τη φορά φιλοξενούνται οι πρωτεργάτες της σκωτσέζικης C86 σκηνής (με συμμετοχή και στην C86 κασέτα του ΝΜΕ) Close Lobsters, για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα. Θα παρουσιάσουν κομμάτια από την εποχή της Fire records, αλλά και από τις πιο πρόσφατες κυκλοφορίες τους.
Oι θρύλοι της Sarah records και αισίως της δική μας Οld Bad Habits label, Action Painting (για δεύτερη φορά στο φεστιβάλ μας), θα παρουσιάσουν στιγμές από όλη την καριέρα τους, ενώ θα παίξουν και τραγούδια που θα υπάρχουν στο νέο τους άλμπουμ.
Oι The Wonky Folk, η νέα μπάντα του Steve Duffiled των Βeta Band, οι οποίοι υπόσχονται να σας μαγέψουν με τους ψυχεδελοpop ήχους τους. Σημειώνουμε ότι μόλις κυκλοφόρησε η πρώτη ολοκληρωμένη δουλειά τους και πάλι από την Old Bad Habits label.
Οι δικοί μας Convex Model, οι οποίοι θα εκπροσωπήσουν τη βόρεια Ελλάδα και τη Θεσσαλονίκη, θα παίξουν κομμάτια και από τα τρία τους έως τώρα άλμπουμ, προσθέτοντας τη δική τους νότα στο φεστιβάλ με τους ηλεκτρονικούς τους ήχους.
Μία από τις ιδιαίτερες και πιο ζεστές στιγμές αποτελεί η εμφάνιση των Love, Burns του Phil Sutton, o οποίος μας είχε συστηθεί με τους Comet Gain. Θα υπάρχει διαθέσιμο κατά τη διάρκεια του διημέρου και το νέο άλμπουμ της μπάντας, το οποίο κυκλοφορεί επισήμως την 29/05/2026.
Όπως πάντα, στο φεστιβάλ μας θα εκπροσωπηθεί και η γερμανική σκηνή και πιο συγκεκριμένα αυτή του Αμβούργου, με δύο συγκροτήματα, τους θρύλους-βετεράνους Kristallin και τους αγαπημένους μας Crabber. Οι πρώτοι επανασυστάθηκαν πρόσφατα και οι δεύτεροι συνεχίζουν την ξέφρενη πορεία τους κυκλοφορόντας το τέταρτο άλμπουμ τους (Jigsaw records – Old Bad Habits label).
Η Σουηδία θα εκπροσωπηθεί φέτος από τη Lisa Bouvier και τις punk pop μελωδίες της, συνεπικουρούμενης από πρώην και νυν μέλη των Rosehips και των Flatmates. Για πρώτη φορά θα παίξει live και το νέο της κομμάτι «Streets of Athens”, το οποίο θα τυπώσουμε σε 300 flexi discs τα οποία θα μοιραστούν δωρεάν σε όσους πιστούς προσέλθουν.
Φέτος, το Bristol θα εκπροσωπήσουν οι Τhe Lovely Basement. Αισίως κυκλοφόρησαν το νέο τους δίσκο. Έχουν λάβει τις καλύτερες κριτικές και υπόσχονται να σας μαγέψουν με τον pop folk – americana ήχο τους.
Οι αγαπημένοι μας The Yellow Melodies, θα λάβουν μέρος για δεύτερη φορά στο φεστιβάλ μας και υπόσχονται να επαναλάβουν την θριαμβευτική τους πρώτη εμφάνιση, εκπροσωπώντας τη νότια πλευρά της Ισπανίας. Έχοντας άπειρες κυκλοφορίες στο ενεργητικό τους και μία γνήσια indie pop κουλτούρα, αποτελούν δικαιωματικά το αγαπημένο μας συγκρότημα της Ιβηρικής χερσονήσου.
Αλλά, η ισπανική επιδρομή θα συνεχιστεί με δύο ακόμη συγκροτήματα, προερχόμενα από τις ακτές της Βαρκελώνης, τα οποία μοιράζονται κάποια από τα μέλη τους. Οι The Lions Constellation, με τους φαζαριστούς shoegaze ήχους τους και επιρροές από Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, κ.ά., θα παρουσιάσουν το νέο τους δίσκο που πρόσφατα κυκλοφόρησε η δική μας Make Me Happy records, σε συνδυασμό με παλαιότερες δουλειές τους. Οι Lost Tapes από την άλλη, τους οποίους πολλοί φίλοι ζήτησαν να συμπεριλάβουμε στο φετινό μας ρόστερ, θα σας μαγέψουν με τους αγνούς pop ήχους τους ως duo.
Το δεύτερο ελληνικό συγκρότημα για φέτος θα είναι οι παλιοί μας γνώριμοι Low Ceiling, οι οποίοι είχαν κλέψει την παράσταση κατά την εμφάνιση τους στο πρώτο μας φεστιβάλ, με τους Lo-fi post punk πειραματισμούς τους. Έχοντας τις ρίζες τους στο Αίγιο, θα μαζευτούν από τρία διαφορετικά σημεία της Ευρώπης, για να μας παρουσιάσουν το νέο τους υλικό, αλλά και παλαιότερα τραγούδια τους.
Για το τέλος αφήσαμε την μουσική πειραματική κολεκτίβα των The Music Liberation Front Sweden. Τα ιδρυτικά μέλη της μπάντας Michael, Lisa και Jay, θα συνδράμουν επί σκηνής μέλη των Action Painting, Kissmatic Lovebubbles και The Wonky Folk, οι Tim και Vanessa Vass (Razorcuts, Melons, Silver Biplanes), o Dave Musker (Television Personalities, The Jasmine Minks), o Joe Foster Ruiz (Slaughter Joe, Television Personalities, Teenage Filmstars).
