Join us as the Branigan Cultural Center and NM Music Commissioner Derrick Lee present the 4th annual “Juneteenth Jazz Arts Festival.” We will have two events. The first of the two will be a FREE event at the Plaza de Las Cruces from 6pm to 9pm MST on Friday, June 21.The second event will be from 10am to 1pm MST in the Courtyard at the Branigan Cultural Center, 501 North Main Street, on Saturday, June 22.
Listen to incredible musicians perform jazz. Festival organizer and NM Music Commissioner, Derrick Lee, explains that “this music is rooted in the traditions of improvisational expression, storytelling, and community, and has a rich history that has shaped our nation. This music is alive, and as it evolves, it continues to evolve us. Jazz history is Black history. Jazz History is American history.”
