Join us as the Branigan Cultural Center and NM Music Commissioner Derrick Lee present the 4th annual “Juneteenth Jazz Arts Festival.” We will have two events. The second of the two will be a FREE event in the Branigan Cultural Center courtyard from 10am to 1pm MST on Saturday, June 22. The first event will be from 6m to 8pm MST at the Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 North Main Street, on Friday, June 21.
Listen to incredible musicians perform jazz. Festival organizer and NM Music Commissioner, Derrick Lee, explains that “this music is rooted in the traditions of improvisational expression, storytelling, and community, and has a rich history that has shaped our nation. This music is alive, and as it evolves, it continues to evolve us. Jazz history is Black history. Jazz History is American history.”
