4th Annual Earth Day Clothing Swap

In honor of Earth Day on Monday, April 22nd, 2024, we invite you to finish your spring cleaning by bringing your extra, gently used clothes to this local clothing swap.

A clothing swap is a clothing exchange where people share their once loved, and gently used clothing with others who share theirs. Just gather your unwanted clothes from last year or any season and bring them to the swap where they may find a new home, new style and live on for many more years. Search piles of other peoples items to build your wardrobe in a no cost exchange between fashion lovers.

One of the most obvious benefits of swapping your clothes is the benefit to the environment. Clothing swaps promote slow fashion vs. fast fashion and are an environmentally friendly reuse strategy that helps reduce our environmental footprint while supporting a circular economy. Besides, you'll get a fresh wardrobe, at no additional charge while building community and donating to those in need. All leftover clothing will be donated locally. A true win-win shopping experience!

Swap til you drop at one of the coolest buildings in Minneapolis: The Legacy Building is a black owned, creative haven for artists to experiment, collaborate, coexist, and create compelling content and experiences. It serves as a hub for new and exciting ideas, a place where creativity thrives, and where individuals can connect with like-minded people to achieve greatness. Join us for an epic clothing swap in honor of Earth Day 2024.

Take a look at our swap rules:

We are accepting adult clothing and accessories from all genders, sizes and seasons: Tops, shirts, blouses, button ups, vests, bottoms, leggings, tights, jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses, suits, fitness wear, swim suits, robes, belts, hats, purses, bags, shoes, boots and so much in between.

NO: children's or baby clothes, jewelry, undergarments, socks, bras or boxers. All clothes items must be freshly washed and free of pet hair and household smells.

So fresh and so clean: All clothing items must be freshly washed. No items with household smells or pet hair.

One man's trash...is still trash: Please only bring freshly washed, reuseable clothing items. No holes, smells, stains, broken zippers, missing buttons, rips, pet hair, etc.

Sharing is caring: While there will be no ticket/token system to regulate what each person brings and takes, remember to be fair, courteous and generous with one another.

Duel at dawn: If two people discover the same item at the same time, the dispute must be settled with rock, paper, scissors OR a coin toss. All results are final.

Give us recycled life: The Best Swap Upcycled Look wins a set of reuseable freezer bags! Awarded in the LiveTV Events Facebook group after the event.*

RSVP appreciated: Typically we welcome over 100 swappers who bring the best, most interesting goodies to dig through. No tickets are required for the event, but we'd love to get an estimate on how many we'll be expecting so an RSVP through Eventbrite would be greatly appreiated.

Covid Precautions: Face masks and hand sanitizer will be available for those you want

Parking: Street parking is available. Carpools encouraged.
