About this Event
The Charles H. Thompson Lecture-Colloquium series creates an avenue through which the Howard University School of Education and The Journal of Negro Education are able to explore significant issues in African American and ethnic minority education. The Charles H. Thompson Lecture-Colloquium series began in November 1980 as a living memorial to Dr. Charles H. Thompson, founder of The Journal of Negro Education. The purpose of the Lecture is to contribute to the continued study and resolution of unresolved problems that still impact the Education of Blacks and ethnic minorities in the United States and around the world.
DR. Greg Carr teaches at Howard University as Associate Professor of Africana Studies and Adjunct Professor in the School of Law. He is First Vice President of the Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations, Co-Founder of Philadelphia Freedom Schools and a Board Member of the National Council for Black Studies and the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America. He appears weekly on the Black Star Network's “Roland Martin Unfiltered," hosts the network's "The Black Table" show and is a co-host of SiriusXM’s “Urban View Mornings.” With Professor Karen Hunter, he co-hosts the weekly “In Class With Carr,” class on Knarrative and YouTube, dubbed “The Largest Africana Studies Class in the World.” He is also Chief Seba on the digital learning platforms Knarrative and Knubia.
