Your gift, a portion of which can be considered a charitable donation, will make a difference in our Mobile Mammography program, which exemplifies the heart of Ascension Via Christi’s mission by serving all persons – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
Mobile Mammography is the 2024 Charity Classic beneficiary.
Ascension Via Christi has purchased a customized mobile mammography
vehicle, which, once received and operational this summer, will make 3D breast imaging screening exams available at worksites and other Wichita,
Manhattan and Pittsburg-area community sites.
The goal: Increase participation in annual breast cancer screening exams by making them more convenient and accessible, and in doing so, save lives
through early detection and treatment.
“Early detection through regular screening is the key to better outcomes,” says Keisha Humphries, Via Christi’s Director of Oncology Services. “But research has established that women may put theirs off because of
scheduling, convenience, or transportation. This will give them another option.”
