40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification Course
The course combines classroom instruction, group activities, and hands-on exercises to cover:
• Introduction to HAZWOPER Standards: Understanding OSHA requirements and the scope of hazardous waste operations.
• Hazard Recognition and Risk Assessment: Identifying and assessing chemical, physical, and biological hazards in the workplace.
• Health and Safety Plans (HASP): Development and implementation of site-specific safety protocols.
• Chemical Properties and Toxicology: Understanding how hazardous substances interact with the body and the environment.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Selection, use, and maintenance of PPE, including Level A-D protection.
• Decontamination Procedures: Techniques for minimizing exposure and contamination risks.
• Monitoring and Sampling Techniques: Using equipment to detect hazardous substances and assess site conditions.
• Emergency Response Planning: Preparedness and response strategies for hazardous substance spills and releases.
• Confined Space Entry: Understanding risks and safety measures for working in confined spaces.
• Workplace Safety Practices: Safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Hands-On Simulations: Practical exercises to apply learning in controlled scenarios.
