DESCRIPTION
Have you ever wondered how the heck to work smoothly and surely on trapeze? This is the apparatus that tends to fight back -- in this 4 week series we will start our journey to coexist peacefully with the dang thing, using several foundational poses and transitions, and a focus on weight distribution to make choreography on trapeze smooth as butter. After a few weeks of this deep dive each student will piece together their own sequence with these foundational poses to practice our mastery of the art of trapeze.
PREREQUISITES
Students should have an understanding of hard apparatus, and the desire to build comfortability with static trapeze.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Cover the backs of your knees, your midriff, and your armpits (rope burns hurt!).
INSTRUCTOR BIO
In 2015, Sydney graduated with a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Sculpture and Extended Media program and she found her passion for aerial that very same year. Her dance, gymnastics, and theater background proved useful in her performance art and also guided her to her love for the aerial arts. She has trained with Rachel Strickland, Waverly Jones, and Aaron Koz. She has also trained with Charlotte-based aerialists, including Amy Tynan, Aly Scanlon, Mandy Elledge, Sarah Hahn, and Katie Rothweiler. She strives every day to share the confidence and strength she found in aerial movement with others.

She specializes in hard apparatus, and you can usually find her spinning or using momentum on Trapeze and Lyra.
