4-Week Mini Fountain Clay Class! 10:30 am - 1 pm September 5th - 26th
About this Event
The 4-Week Desk Fountain Clay Class is specially designed to teach you how to create a small, fully functional water fountain with all materials included in the class cost.
Our goal in this class is to teach you hand-building fundamentals and create a unique and relaxing centerpiece. This class is perfect for beginners with no experience or folks with plenty of clay knowledge; the goal is to step out of your comfort zone and try something new! This 4-week course will meet every Saturday morning in September (5th - 26th) from 10:30 am - 1 pm. There is one make-up session per person per class if you are sick or life gets in the way. Please email us if you need to reschedule, and we will coordinate with you! :)

All classes and workshops are open to anyone over the age of 10 years old, any person under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Note: Shahane will be the instructor! She has taught pottery since 2016, got her BFA in ceramic arts in 2015 with a double minor in art history and psychology, and owns Pudgy's Place with her husband Phillip :)

September 5th
Info: Week 1: We start easy by doing some sketches with paper and pencil to get an idea of how you want your fountain to look. You'll be given basic guidance on functionality, and then we will begin by creating the base.

September 12th
Info: Week 2: We start building up the exterior walls of your fountain, and for those who are faster, they can begin working on the neck of the fountain that houses the water pump.

September 19th
Info: Week 3: We finish creating the neck and body of your fountain today! Any fun additions, like mini rocks or worry stones, can be made today as well. This is the final day to build your fountain!

September 26th
Info: Week 4: The final day of this session - glaze, glaze, glaze it all! We will go over the basics of glazing and some cool alterations and tricks. *NOTE: None of our glazes have toxic or dangerous minerals. If you'd like to continue taking classes, we encourage you to visit our events page or website to see our current offerings! If you'd like to continue independently, join our multimedia studio, Pudgy's Place, as a member! :) *Pieces glazed today will have to be picked up the following week, or can be shipped to you for an additional fee.
