4-Week Long Drawing Skills Course with Marike MacDonald

Price: $200 (+ GST | Fees) total for the 4 weeks
Ages: Adults, 18+
Overview:
Students will learn about the basics of drawing with dedicated exercises to reinforce each concept.
Week 1: Lines and Shapes - Students will hone drawing skills using blind contour, drawing the object upside down, and freehand.
Week 2: 3D Objects - Students will learn to change an object from a flat surface to a 3D surface i.e. square to cube.
Week 3: Light and Shadow - We will discuss light and shadow and learn to shade an object in different ways to achieve 3D.
Week 4: Putting It All Together - We will analyze a small still-life and draw it to put together the concepts of the previous weeks.
Students will be given optional homework, and all materials & supplies will be provided.
About the Instructor:
Marike is known for her bold, expressive use of colour and her passion for encouraging artists and helping them grow. She has taught both adults and children in Ontario and brings a wealth of experience from solo and collaborative exhibitions. Her work is featured at Route 22 Collective Gallery in Cochrane, Alberta and Eclipse Gallery in Huntsville, Ontario.
