New to clay? This 4-week course is the perfect place to start. We’ll cover the foundational handbuilding techniques (pinch, coil, and slab) while creating functional and decorative pieces like cups, bowls, plates, planters, and vases, etc. We give you the guidance and tools, you bring the creativity!The class schedule is as follows:
Week 1: Learn the basics of pinch pot and coil building.
Week 2: Learn to build with clay slabs.
Week 3: Potters Choice! Use pinch pot, coil, or slab building, or a combination of all three!
**NOTE: We will skip one week to allow time for pottery drying and bisque firing**
Week 4: Glaze Day! Intro to pottery glazing techniques. Students will glaze all bisque-fired pieces from previous weeks.
Price includes clay, all tools, glazing, and firing services. Pieces created will be dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe. Final pieces will be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after the final class.
Additional Information:
-This class is for ages 13 and up. All under 16 must attend with a participating adult.
-There will be no makeups for missed classes.
-This is a strictly handbuilding pottery class. We will NOT be using the pottery wheel
-Tickets are non-refundable.
