About this Event

Dear Families,

We are excited to invite your child (ages 8–12) to join the Culinary Explorers 4-H Club! This year, we are traveling the world through our taste buds, learning essential kitchen skills, safety, and culture one country at a time.

To keep things simple, we are splitting our "World Tour" into two semesters. Enrollment is now open for our first journey!

Semester 1: The Spring Tour (March – June)
  • March: Italy (Knife Safety & Fresh Herbs)
  • April: Mexico (Sautéing & Heat Management)
  • May: Japan (Precision Rolling & Textures)
  • June: Greece (Dough Work & Flatbreads)

Registration Details:

  • Semester Fee: $45.00 per child.
  • What this covers: This all-inclusive fee covers the member’s personal 4-H apron, 4-H measuring spoon set, their "Culinary Passport" binder, and all fresh ingredients/supplies for all four months.

Semester 2: The Fall Tour (July – December)

Registration for the second half of the year will open in late June. Our "Fall Tour" will visit the USA, France, India, Germany, and China!

Meeting Information
  • When: March 10, April 7, May 19, June 2
  • Time: 4:00pm-6:00pm
  • Location: Pitt County Ag Center: 403 Government Circle, Greenville, NC 27834

How to Register

Space is limited to 10 young chefs to ensure everyone gets hands-on experience at the stove.

  1. Sign up via: Eventbrite
  2. Deadline: Please register and submit payment by March 2, 2026
  3. Allergies: Please note any food allergies or sensitivities during registration so we can safely adjust our recipes.

4-H is about "Learning by Doing." We can't wait to see your child build confidence in the kitchen and bring home delicious new skills!

All youth must be registered in 4-H Online before the first club meeting.

What is 4-H Online?

It is a secured, web-based system (often called 4-H Online 2.0) used across the country to manage youth and volunteer records. Families create a "Family Profile" and then add individual profiles for each child.

Why is it Necessary?

Even if you have your own sign-up sheet, every child must be enrolled in 4-H Online for several critical reasons:

  • Insurance & Liability: This is the most important reason. When a child is "Active" in 4-H Online, they are covered by 4-H accidental insurance during meetings.
  • Medical & Emergency Info: The system stores digital health forms and emergency contact info that are compliant with privacy laws (PCI and HIPAA). If an accident happens, the official record is right there.
  • Competition Eligibility: If your youth want to enter their muffins or project books into a state competition, those registrations are handle directly from 4-H Online. If they aren't in the system, they usually can't compete.
  • Communication: It ensures families receive official newsletters, scholarship information, and state-wide event invites.
