Join fellow blind and low-vision high school and college students for two days of learning, fun, and future-building. We’ve got exciting guest speakers who are crushing it in their careers, practical skill-building sessions, and tons of opportunities to ask questions, try new things, and connect with others who share your journey.
This camp is designed to introduce students to improve the transition of students with disabilities from school to postsecondary education, trade school or to an employment outcome.
WHAT'S IN STORE?
✨ Social Fun: It’s not all work! Expect plenty of time to hang out, relax, and enjoy some community-based activities and games.
✨ Counseling on Post secondary Education: Explore Your Options, learn about different paths after high school—whether it's heading to college, enrolling in a trade program, or jumping into work. Discover what’s right for YOU!
✨ Job Exploration Counseling: Hands-On Workshops, get real, practical experience with activities designed to prepare you for education and workplace success.
✨ Self-Advocacy: Learning Mindset, develop the confidence and skills to keep growing, no matter what challenges come your way.
✨ Guest Speakers: Hear from visually impaired professionals who have been where you are and have awesome advice to share.
✨ Workplace Readiness: Sharpen the skills employers are looking for, from communication to teamwork, and learn how to advocate for yourself in the workplace.
This workshop is all about YOU and your future. You’ll leave with fresh ideas, useful skills, and new friends. Plus, you'll have a blast along the way!
WHO
This camp is ideal for students who are Blind, Deaf-Blind or Low Vision or Deafblind, between the ages of 14 and 21, who are active participants of DSB VR or PRE-ETS Services.
COST
FREE! This camp is free to active participants of DSB through a Vocational Rehabilitation case or through PRE-ETS Services. Please note those needing travel assistance will need to be already place in a vocational rehabilitation plan.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Holly Edwards, a dedicated advocate for student success, has spent over two decades in higher education. Her passion is helping students find their strengths, build confidence, and crush their goals! She has worked with students of all ages and especially those facing extra hurdles, particularly, students with disabilities, people who’ve been through trauma, and those dealing with poverty.
Holly has spent the last two years working with Washington State DSB. Her current roles and accomplishments with DSB include partnering with Pre-ETS staff to develop and facilitate the 3T Academy, promoting post-secondary success for youth. In addition, she works at the OTC in Seattle providing internship and career readiness workshops and one on one training for adults.
