Welcome to the 3rd Powhiri for Migrants to the Bay of Plenty!

Come join us at Opopoti Marae in Maungatapu for a warm and traditional Maori welcome or Powhiri. Through this powhiri, Maori who are the first inhabitants of New Zealand are saying “ Haere Mai - welcome” to us (migrants) as the new co-inhabitants who have chosen Aotearoa New Zealand as our home..Whether you're new to the Bay of Plenty or have been here for a while, everyone is welcome to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!
