Please join the Hardrock Charlie Foundation for a Post Jump BBQ Bash at the beautiful, lakeside Wooton Park in Tavares, FL! This is a fundraising event organized by the Hardrock Charlie Foundation and sponsored by the City of Tavares, America’s Seaplane City.
We will be featuring live music by Nashville recording artist, Jessie G (https://jessiegmusic.com/), and Mission BBQ will be serving their authentic BBQ made from the freshest, most delectable ingredients!
Proceeds from ticket sales will support the Hardrock Charlie Foundation’s mission. All donations will go to individuals and groups that demonstrate need with an emphasis placed on efforts that address education, social welfare, and health issues; with special attention given to programs for Rangers, surviving spouses and children of the 75th Ranger Regiment.
About Jessie G:
“Sometimes true musical talent just cannot be denied, even when it’s found in the sleepy fishing town of Brookings, Oregon,” says Grammy award winning artist Gretchen Wilson about Jessie G, the first outside artist signed to Wilson’s Redneck Records.
Jessie’s heritage spans across four generations of commercial fishermen, and she spent much of her childhood aboard the hand-built family boat: searching for Dungeness crab and albacore tuna, and then selling their catch at the market and in their family restaurant. Hard work runs in her blood.
“From an early stage, I was able to support my dream of pursuing music with the money I earned working as a baiter on our fishing boat or selling our fresh catch at the Farmer’s Market,” Jessie remembers. “But I always knew that music was the endgame. It has always been my number one passion.”
It’s doubtful, however, that Jessie knew that entering a Battle of the Bands contest, through which she won an opening slot on Gretchen’s Portland tour date, would literally change her entire trajectory. Upon hearing her sing, Gretchen invited her onto her tour bus and urged Jessie to begin the journey that every young country singer-songwriter must embark upon — she moved to Nashville.
Jessie immersed herself fully in writing, teaming with some of Nashville’s best, and spent countless hours in the studio working on her sound. Discovering the true art of songwriting under the watchful eye of Gretchen and her multi-talented friends and collaborators, Jessie realized the true depth of what she wanted to say.
“These new songs have helped me find my voice and who I am, both in the writing room and in the studio. This has been one of the biggest growing experiences both personally and in my career.” Jessie says.
With Jessie G signed as a Redneck Records artist, Gretchen Wilson now serves as co-writer, collaborator, producer, label head, tour mate and friend.
About Hardrock Charlie Foundation:
Our mission: The Hardrock Charlie Foundation, Inc. exists as a social and philanthropic organization for Veterans of 75th Ranger Regiment. The group seeks to create and support programs that promote, maintain, and preserve Ranger heritage, culture, and operates as a benevolent, non-profit charitable organization; donating money to individuals and groups that demonstrate need. A particular emphasis is placed on efforts that address education, social welfare, and health issues; with special attention given to programs for Rangers, surviving spouses and children of the 75th Ranger Regiment.
In 2020, a small group of Rangers planned a water jump in Tavares, Florida. It was a chance for the guys to get together for a little fun. Word got out and more Rangers joined the jump list. Within a few weeks, we had a reunion on our hands. It seemed like everyone was interested in an organized event as a chance to catch up with one another.
The reunion turned out to be so much more than a water jump and a few beers. Quick glances turned into big grins and bro hugs. A bunch of brothers talking about how “happy” they were to be together again. It was then that our group recognized that connecting and supporting fellow Rangers needs to happen within the immediate brotherhood at the Company level.
We fully acknowledge that there are numerous Veteran organizations in existence who do great things. But they are often broad in scope and far reaching, missing the small unit connection shared within SOCOM. We took the observations of one of our own, General Daniel B. Allyn, realizing how true it was: “As an Officer, the last chance to directly impact individual troops was as a Company Commander.” His words resonated with us, and we realized that among those in attendance at the reunion, with many moving on to different units or civilian careers, that the common denominator was being “raised” in C Co. 1/75. And we fully know that this sentiment is felt through all the Companies and Battalions within the 75th Ranger Regiment….and we are here for all.
To impact and affect the health and welfare of those warriors who served to our left and right, where better to focus our efforts than at the most familiar level possible? No one knows us better than the brothers we were raised with, and it is our mission to make the reconnection among us. In 2020, it was obvious it was needed. And here we are….and here we go!
