Come celebrate the completed health and education projects at the Odiyana Health and Education Project in India at the 3rd Annual Odiyana Fundraiser. Participation is both local and virtual.
Celebrate the successes of the Odiyana Health and Education Project in India. Learn about the school, the health services and the volunteer program. Meet Tulku Orgyen Rinpoche. Learn about the results of the first Health Camp that provided medical care for local residents, a first of its kind. Hear about the arrival of the first 10 little monks. The boys are part of the first phase of the school. The next phase will include a day school for girls. Learn about the excitement the orphans have for being able to start their education. This remote area is crucial to preserving the Tibetan Culture in an area with very limited resources. The education includes math, language, art and Tibetan music, dance, art, and literature. This center is in the foothills of the Himalayas and is recognized as a culturally diverse area. It shares international borders with Bhutan, Myanmar, and China's Tibet Autonomous. Talk to the people who attended the grand opening of the center. Enjoy Tibetan food, dancing, local music, and talking with previous volunteers about their experiences. The 3rd annual fundraising dinner will be at the Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara 1535 Santa Barbara Street. Tickets $45 dinner $25 virtual.
