The Eric Group and The City of Owensboro proudly announce The 3rd Annual Downtown Summer Jam, set for Saturday, June 22, 2024, at McConnell Plaza in Owensboro, KY. THE ’77 EXPERIENCE will headline the event. Special guest, Southern Sirens, will be direct support. Gates open at 6:00 pm, and the concert starts at 7:00 pm CDT. Admission is FREE! Heath Eric, CEO of The Eric Group, said, “For the 3rd consecutive year, we are proud to bring an exciting LIVE CONCERT experience to Downtown Owensboro. The 3rd Annual Downtown Summer Jam will feature THE ’77 EXPERIENCE. These guys nail it to the wall with top-notch, bad-to-the-bone, honest-to-goodness KILLER Rock and Roll from 1977. They are exceptional musicians and vocalists, and the set list includes all the hits from that year, including some of the most demanding tunes. Concert attendees will not be disappointed - that is for certain.”
Hoppy Molly LLC will offer attendees beer, cocktails, and other beverages. Food Trucks will also be at the event. This event also serves as a special edition of LIVE on the Banks, a weekly concert series in Downtown Owensboro.

With a deep appreciation for music from that era, The '77 Experience flawlessly recreates the iconic hits from 1977. And while the audience sings every word, they will be dazzled by a spectacular nostalgia-infused video montage. Audiences will totally relate to segments of iconic commercials, movie trailers, late-night TV moments, newsworthy events, and pop culture happenings from 1977.
The show features six seasoned Nashville musicians who have blended their extraordinary career backgrounds with undeniable musicianship to create an unparalleled musical adventure. Join them as they pay homage to the vibrant and diverse musical landscape of 1977. The '77 Experience is more than just a band; it's a journey through time where music, laughter, and memories converge!
Southern Sirens was formed in 2013 after Emmy Bodner and Kelsey Lee met through a mutual friend. Both musicians had been performing in the Louisville area since they were kids. Emmy (vocals and guitar) has performed as a soloist and part of several bands since middle school. In 2010, she won a car as part of WDRB TV's Fox41 in the Morning Idol contest. In 2013 and 2016, she was a Hollywood finalist for American Idol. And most recently, she took home first place in the online talent competition Shine. Kelsey(cajon/percussion/background vocals) grew up performing with the world-famous Louisville Leopard Percussionist group. The Leopards and Kelsey, as their instructor, were invited to play " CrazyTrain" for Ozzy Osbourne! Kelsey teaches percussion to hundreds of children each year and conducts clinics worldwide. Kelsey also has online drum clinics.
Together, this duo puts its own twist on various musical genres. Some of their performance highlights include the 2024 Kentucky Derby and 2023 Kentucky Oaks performances at Churchill Downs, being selected as a Top 70 act for ABC's Rising Star television show, being a finalist for Pepsi's Southern Original Competition at the Gulf Coast Jam, and being the opening performers for the Muhammed Ali Humanitarian Awards and Congo 14 Festival headlined by Bruno Mars. They have released one EP and are currently working on new material for a future project.
