(3rd Annual) Blacksburg Fire Department "Truck Company Operations" Class

In partnership with Capitol Fire Training LLC, the Blacksburg Fire Department would like to invite you to join us for an exciting hands-on experience, March 27-29, 2026!

This (2.5 day) in-person class dives into Truck Company Operations, perfect for firefighters and enthusiasts wanting to sharpen their skills. Join us for practical training, teamwork, and real-life scenarios that’ll boost your confidence on the job. Don’t miss this chance to learn from the pros and connect with fellow fire buffs. We are inviting 50 firefighters to Come Join Us for the long weekend (Friday March 27 (Lecture starting at 6pm Friday), and all day Saturday March 28th and Sunday March 29th, 2026) in Southwest Virginia for the (Third Annual) Firefighter "Truck Company Operations" Class from 7am-5pm. (Lunch provided).

The 2.5 day class is being taught by a group of firefighter instructors from the "Capitol Fire Training Group" who want you to come learn and test your skills in the areas of Hoseline Stretch & Management, Forcible Entry, Search Tactics, RIT Skills and Vertical Ventilation, in addition to Vehicle Stabilization, Man vs. Machine, and more!

This event is hosted by the Blacksburg Fire Department, and will be held at the Montgomery County Fire Training Ground, located at 1636 Merrimac Road, Blacksburg VA, 24060.

Each participant will be broken into groups, and rotate through 4-5 stations each day, covering numerous topics.

Friday Night: Lecture 6-9PM (dinner provided)

Saturday Topics: Forcible Entry, Search, RIT, Hose Movement, Vertical Ventilation (lunch provided)

Sunday Topics: Extrication, Stabilization, Man vs Machine, Ladder Truck Victim Rescue (lunch provided)

Each participant will need the following:

· Signed 1403 Waiver (signed by Department Official **PRIOR** to arrival)

· Full Set of In-Date (within 10 years) PPE (in Good Repair)

· SCBA & 2 Spare Bottles

· * MUST BE CLEAN SHAVEN - NO EXCEPTIONS*

· VDFP Firefighter 1, or letter from Department Fire Chief acknowledging sufficient skill level and allowing participation
