From Jeni AdairI am so excited to announce that the 3rd Annual ASAP Central FL Walk & Roll For A Cure will be held IN-PERSON this year on Sept. 25th from 10am-1pm at the pavilion near the Apopka Amphitheater! Things were up-in-the-air for a while, but given the increase in vaccine availability, and the fact that the event is held outdoors, we feel that we will be able to hold a fun and safe event for all involved. This Walk is an Awareness event for Chiari Malformation Syndrome, syringomyelia, and related disorders, as well as a fundraiser for ASAP, a non-profit organization which funds research into these disorders and supports patients dealing with them.
Now is also the time to start thinking about becoming a business sponsor and having your business' name on our Walk shirt, on Walk markers, or on our Event sign, (the various levels of sponsorship can be found on our website). I will continue to share more details as they come in. We are expecting a fun-filled event with lots of activities and entertainment this year! Thank you in advance for your support!
This will also be a great time for a lot of us Spoonies to meet each other IRL. We had a fairly decent turnout at our first Walk, and I would love to have even more of us at this one.
Once you register on the website, please make sure to set up your fundraising page and share it with family and friends. Every Walker who raises $30 or more will receive a Walk shirt. After registering, please send me an email ("[email protected]"), with your list of diagnoses. Last time, we made pins for everyone to wear with different colors for their various diagnoses. I am open to other suggestions, as well. I am looking forward to meeting many of you! Thank you!
