3D Printing for Kids

Participants, ages 10+, will learn the fundamentals of 3D printing, including sourcing 3D models, slicing, and safe operation of our Bambu Labs P1P printers. Each participant will select and print a small model to take home. Participants' parents are invited to attend the class or hang out nearby.

Note: 3D prints take hours to print and will be read to pick up the following weekend.

Makerspace members will be approved to use the 3D printers after taking this class.

Instructor Bio: Quinn Williams has been volunteering as a 3D printing tool champion for 3 years and has experience operating, building and fixing all of our printers. He attends Bellingham High School.

Important Information

COVID-19: To keep everyone safe; masks (can provide), hand sanitizing (at entrances), and social distancing are highly encouraged at Bellingham Makerspace. Maximum class size has been reduced to allow for social distancing.

Class fees: All class fees include materials. If you are a current Bellingham Makerspace member or scheduled volunteer you may select the discounted member registration. Some instructors offer scholarship discounts and volunteers may be eligible for training discounts.

Cancellations: All classes have a minimum number of participants. If the instructor specified number is not reached 24hrs before the class is scheduled to start, the class will be cancelled and any registrations refunded (Eventbrite fees are non refundable).

Refund policy: You may request a refund from Eventbrite no later than 24hrs before the class starts (Eventbrite fees are non refundable). After that point instructors and participants are committed and we won't be able to provide any refunds.

FAQs

• When and where to arrive? Please arrive 5-15min early for sign-in. Park outside Dick's Sporting Goods. Enter the mall through Dick's, Makerspace is the first on the right.
• Is there an age limit? Under 18 must attend with an adult ASSISTANT. Assistants, time permitting, may be able to print as well with an extra fee.
