Dive into the world of 3D design where art meets architecture in a fun, hands-on session you won’t want to miss!
About this Event

Inspired by Yashua Klos: Cornerstones, this hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the relationship between art, design, material, and function. In Cornerstones, Klos transforms building materials and architectural elements—including wood, concrete, grids, and other remnants of the built environment—into large-scale works that explore memory, identity, community, and resilience.

After spending time with the exhibition for inspiration, participants will consider how artists and designers can transform familiar materials and forms into something unexpected. Using 3D modeling software, participants will design an original furniture piece that balances function with artistic expression. From imaginative chairs and sculptural tables, participants will explore how shape, material, structure, and story can influence the way we interact with the objects and spaces around us.

No prior 3D modeling experience is required. Come ready to look, imagine, and build something that is both functional and artful.

About the Instructor

Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Quincy Woodard grew up in a city richly rooted in African and African American traditional art, and found himself inspired by the local museums and the cities large Graffiti scene. His work is heavily influenced by the art he was exposed to in his youth. Woodard's goal as an artist and an educator is to bring representation to the field of design through the use of cultural iconography like symbols, language, norms, values, and artifacts.
