Families are invited to create, dance, sing and play at the 35th Annual Artrageous Kids Art Festival, which will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Sat., May 11, at Dowdy Park in Nags Head.
Artrageous’ theme this year is Creativity stARTs Here, a nod to the fact that so many children have had their first art experience at this event.

Presented by PNC Bank, Artrageous is a free, family-friendly event that includes interactive art activities, live music, theatre and dance performances as well as an artisan market and food vendors.
Metal stamping, weaving, making mushroom prints, creating stained glass suncatchers, collaging with treasures, painting and culinary art are just a few of the free art activities that children can participate in at this year’s Artrageous.

Students from Hatteras Island Community Strings, Mustang Music Outreach Program, Ascencion Music Academy, the Dare2Care OBX Shredders and Atlantic Dance will be performing throughout the day.

There will also be interactive stage performances by science-inspired musical act Nature Out Loud and children’s improv theatre by Donna Roark’s Shadow Players with Drama Mama.
Over 25 local artisans will be selling their work at Artrageous, including the Young Artist Village, which provides a venue for students to sell jewelry, paintings, fiber art and more.
Fork‘et Me Not, Island Snowball, Blurred Lines Bakery and The Lopez Lemonade Stand will be selling snacks, cool drinks, and sweet treats onsite all day.
Additional parking for Artrageous will be available at Nags Head Elementary School.

Presented by PNC Bank, the Artrageous Kids Art Festival is Dare County’s longest-running kids art program.

This project is sponsored by the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau.

Thank you to the Don & Catharine Bryan Cultural Series for sponsoring Artrageous.
This project was supported by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
