In this role, she supports clinicians, assistive technology providers, and assistive technology consumers across the eastern United States. Lindsey leads the development and delivery of LUCI’s clinical education program, which includes in-services, continuing education courses, and a range of clinical resources designed
to help clinicians and ATPs ensure power wheelchair users have access to the technology they need to improve quality of life and maximize safety and independence. With a clinical background in neurorehabilitation and a specialized focus on seating and wheeled mobility, Lindsey brings deep expertise to the assistive technology field. She is a frequent presenter at both national and international conferences.
Deborah L. Pucci PT, MPT
Deborah L. Pucci received her degree in 1998 from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She has 25 plus years of clinical experience in neurologic rehabilitation, with specializations in wheelchair seating and mobility and acute spinal cord injury. She has held multiple positions since 1999 at the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab (formerly known as the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago), including senior therapist on the acute spinal cord injury unit, research study coordinator for the spinal cord injury model systems program, and wheelchair and seating clinical specialist. She has presented continuing professional education courses and lectures domestically and internationally in the areas of seating and mobility and acute rehabilitation for spinal cord injury. Currently, Pucci works as a clinical educator for Ki Mobility by Etac and as a clinical specialist for the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab wheelchair and seating clinic.

An ON Time Approach to Powered Mobility: Why we should be using it sooner!
Host: Andrina Sabet, PT, ATP
Info: This presentation will focus on pediatric power mobility from a human rights perspective utilizing the ON Time Mobility framework. Conventional schools of thought often consider power mobility only when walking has been exhausted or as a mobility option of last resort. The ON Time Mobility framework is grounded in neuroscience, developmental psychology, and disability justice and is based on the premise that all children have a right to hours of active mobility each day in order to develop agency and co-create their lives. ON Time Mobility challenges our current practice patterns to re-examine how we define and approach mobility. For many children with developmental disabilities and delays, power mobility is an exciting opportunity to fill the developmental gaps created by lagging gross motor skills. We will explore a developmental and rights based action plan to incorporate powered mobility as one of our first interventions with a focus on fun, engagement and building autonomy.

Accessible Entrances and Exits
Host: Cindi Petito, OTR/L, ATP, CAPS, CEAC
Info: This 90-minute session teaches participants to evaluate and configure Universal Design (UD) solutions for residential exits and entrances serving aging adults and people with complex disabilities. Attendees will learn best practices using a home access team approach, from fall-prevention home safety solutions to long-term strategies that maximize function across the lifespan.
Clinicians and home access professionals often rely on ADA standards alone when making home accessibility recommendations. Strict ADA-only compliance can create waste and minimal, force-fit solutions rather than functional environments. The UD Project establishes universal design housing standards, addressing a housing market largely unregulated by accessibility policy and a resulting shortage of safe, functional homes. Significant gaps remain in service delivery among home access and OT/PT professionals, and stronger team collaboration is needed to achieve better client outcomes.

Making Power Wheelchairs Smarter: Exploring the Continuum of SMART Technology
Host: Lindsey L. Sharpe, PT, DPT, ATP
Info: Many power wheelchair drivers face a variety of issues related to their independence, safety, efficiency, and accessibility as a result of impaired motor control, visual deficits, impaired reaction time, inattention, and various other deficits that are common among wheeled mobility users. This course will review the continuum of currently available SMART technologies that can be incorporated into the power wheelchair to address these issues and improve driver safety, confidence, and independence.

Optimizing Participation, Posture, & Skin Protection Through Manual TIS
Host: Deborah L. Pucci PT, MPT
Info: Tilt-in-space (TIS) is far more than a wheelchair feature — it’s a powerful clinical intervention that can reshape posture, pressure, and functional performance. Yet manual TIS is often overlooked because of concerns about propulsion, weight, transport, and reimbursement. This course cuts through those assumptions and presents manual tilt as a practical, evidence-informed option for individuals with a wide range of neurologic, orthopedic, progressive, and medically complex conditions.
The session will distinguish tilt from recline, and explore how seat angle influences posture, pressure distribution, propulsion, and participation in daily activities. Participants will examine how different tilt mechanisms — front-seat-frame pivot, mid-seat-frame pivot, rotational tilt designs — can be matched to clinical and functional goals. This discussion will review coverage criteria for manual TIS and highlight equipment strategies that preserve the benefits of tilt while supporting mobility.
