32209 Community Revitalization Project

On Jan 21, 2023, twenty+ youth from a handful of Youth Councils came together and decided to make their efforts felt by doing meaningful actions that leave a lasting impact on the communities they touch. At that youth conference the vision for the 32209 Revitalization Project was born. The premise was to paint the block one house at a time as a means to improve the look and feel of neglected neighborhoods

Adding value to the home of those struggling financially changes the way they feel. It lightens the load to know someone that don't know you cares enough to improve your experience at home. We could plant community gardens. Pressuring washing the sidewalks would make a big difference. We could mow the lawns for the older people.<--These are just some of the ideas shared in that conference room at the Jesse Ball DuPont Center. Hearing all these amazing ideas, the adults and organizations supporting the productive development of these youth got behind them to make this initiative an idea realized.
