32 Cells Art Show: All in a Day’s WorkJoin the Old Idaho Penitentiary for the ninth annual 32 Cells Art Show featuring brand new works by local artists inspired by stories from the historic Idaho State Penitentiary. This year’s theme is “All in a Day’s Work,” featuring stories of the “day jobs” and occupations of the men and women that served time there, with each tale shedding some additional light on their lives outside of the institution.
In addition, the site will be celebrating the release of its newest book, “32 Cells: Artistic Reflections on the Idaho State Penitentiary,” featuring local artwork and the accompanying true stories from the first five years of the 32 Cells Art Show. This brilliant, full-color, hardcover keepsake will be available for purchase for the first time at the show!
Artwork will hang on prison cell doors for viewing. All pieces will be available for purchase, along with a no-host bar and food trucks on-site.
Event is Saturday, August 17 between 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm (last admission 9:15 pm). Admission is $12 at the door or online. Due to the graphic nature and subject matter of this show, it is recommended for ages 13+ only.

All admission proceeds benefit Idaho State Historical Society education programs.
Note: The Old Idaho Penitentiary will be closed during regular visitation hours on Saturday, August 17, and will open at 6:00 pm for this event.
