We are happy to invite you to the 31st edition of the Hungary Sakura Cup, a celebration of youth kendo dedicated to children, juniors, and young kendokas from around the world. This milestone event is more than just a tournament—it's a weekend of growth, friendship, and unforgettable experiences.
Whether you're stepping onto the shiaijo for the first time or returning to test your skills, the Sakura Cup offers a welcoming space to learn, compete, and connect across borders.

Categories will run on 6 shiaijos; order announced after opening ceremony

Competition Categories:
Kihon (Basic Technique)
Kihon A: 5–9 yrs
Kihon B: 10–13 yrs
Kihon C: 14–17 yrs
Kihon D: 18–21 yrs
Includes kirikaeshi and uchikomi geiko on motodachi in bogu. One category per competitor.
Shiai (Match)
Junior A: 5–9 yrs
Junior B: 10–12 yrs
Junior C: 13–15 yrs
Junior D: 16–17 yrs
Youth Men: 18–21 yrs
Youth Women: 15–21 yrs
One category per competitor (except girls).
Categories may be merged if needed.
Junior Team Event
5-member teams (mixed gender allowed)
Fixed order by age group:
Senpo: 8–12 yrs
Jiho: 10–13 yrs
Chuken: 13–15 yrs
Fukusho & Taisho: 16–21 yrs
Multiple teams per dojo allowed
Mixed dojo teams welcome—organizers will assist in forming teams
Additional Notes:
Clubs should bring their own taskis (red/white ribbons)
Photos and videos may be published online and in media
Organizers reserve the right to adjust schedule and categories
Competitor's helper is resonsible to put the 2taski" (ribbons) on the competitor before each fight.
