317 Main Presents: The Portland String Quartet in Trio

317 Main is ecstatic to be partnering with the Portland String Quartet to bring you a musical experience you won’t soon forget!

The Portland String Quartet has been a fixture of the Maine chamber music community since its inception in 1969. Throughout the past half-century, the PSQ has held residencies at institutions including Colby College and the University of Maine, recorded a voluminous discography, and toured and taught internationally - notably, fostering a close relationship with the Orquestra Juvenil Simon Bolivar, now known as El Sistema.

Now in its 56th season, the PSQ is still regarded as a premier classical music ensemble in Maine. With all current members having joined within the last five years, the PSQ is in a thrilling phase of growth and exploration, with each new member bringing their own unique style of artistry and expertise. The Quartet couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with 317 Main to present a program highlighting the voices of women, known and unknown, and bringing the decades-old legacy of the PSQ to Yarmouth.
