Welcome! As a valued student, you are front and center of this program. We hope to provide you with everything you need to feel knowledgeable, confident, and inspired about your life path-and teaching others how to find their path too. This is more than an asana focused yoga teacher training. It is also an opportunity to deepen your spiritual awareness and practices. This training efforts to umbrella all aspects of yoga as taught in the great system of Vedic knowledge which states “that all the universe is OneSelf and that the key to cosmic knowledge lies within our own minds and hearts”.
Katrina, Michael, and Lisa have curated a integral and dynamic 300hr YTT curriculum, that will unlock many doors for the aspirants who take this program. It addresses our entire nature, including life as a spiritual being. This program will prepare the aspirant to thrive in life, not only with physical and mental/emotional health, but it will help nurture spiritual prowess as well. The depth and breadth of the material far surpasses the qualifications for YA certification. We are pending approval.
The 300Hr program will be taught in 6 modules from August to February. Module 1 is a 10-Day Immersion in Puerto, Morales, Mexico. Modules 2-6 are weekend immersives taught at Karma Yoga Center in Denver, Co. Students can either sign-up for the entire training or individual modules at your own pace. For those doing individual modules, they will be offered every year during the same seasons and you can jump in and out. Students who would like to just take 1 or 2 modules for personal interest or continuing education credits can also join. We are delving into the deeper teachings of Self-Realization, Self-Healing, and Consciousness. Students don’t necessarily need to have completed a 200Hr training prior but the 300Hr Training will be taught as if that level of self-study has been completed. Description: Study Primal Sound as Mantra. Learn how the Mantra and Sound (Nada) interacts with our mind, body and spirit. Mantra is both for Self-Healing (Ayurveda) and Self-Realization (Yoga). There are eternal sound currents (Nadis) in your Astral Body that resonate to mantra. Concurrently, use the mala you made at the 1-Day Immersion for mantra practice and learn more about the mala as spiritual-scientific tool. You will learn mudras of the hands and body to further assist in the energetic movement of consciousness through the body at all layers: physical, astral and causal.

Cancellation Policy
All $432 deposits are non-refundable. Any cancellations within the first week the training will forfeit 1/3 of your tuition. Cancellations after week 1 will forfeit the full paid amount, with the option to be re-apply for future YTT trainings.

After the Day Immersive & Intro on Aug 25, students will journey to Puerto Morelos, Mexico under the tropical blue skies of the Mayan Riviera to stay at a Private Garden Villa by the ocean. For 10-Days, we will delve into the deeper 300Hr teachings, establishing a daily rhythm for your practice and studies.
We will open our immersion with Philosophy, Sacred Geometry, Anatomy, Ayurveda, The Upanishads, and Practicum Sessions. Each day will start with a morning Sadhana at the beach to do breathwork, mantra and meditation. We will follow up with morning ayurvedic teas and discussion. Some class session will be at the Private Yoga Palapa in the lush gardens, some will be at the Salt Water Pool and some will be at the pristine beach. Full Morning breakfast is included each day and some afternoon and evening meals.
Private Garden Villa and Accommodations
The private Garden Villa has beautiful individual apartments, fully equipped in-room kitchenettes, living areas, sitting porches, a salt water swimming pool, free bicycles to use, walking gardens, ponds, water fountains and features, hammocks, beach chairs and umbrellas for use and is located 1-block from the beautiful white sands of the Mexican Caribbean and 4-blocks from the charming town of Puerto Morales. Each student will have their own Private Room as a Single Occupancy.
The Town of Puerto Morelos
Puerto Morelos is the very heart of the Mexican Caribbean and located only 25 minutes from the Cancun Airport. It is a cultural and ecological gem as it is completely surrounded by protected tropical mangroves and two biological reserves. It has also maintained it’s cultural and spiritual connection to the the Mayan peoples and heritage. Here you find local shops, artisans, and crafts-people with a vibrant community. There is as local farmers market, several well stocked grocery stores, and many wonderful restaurants to choose from. The cuisine is fresh, inspired and caters to all diets from seafood to vegetarian, vegan, omnivore, and all variety dietary needs.
Visit the Pyramids, Temples and Cenotes
We will also take a day trip to visit some of the ancient Mayan Temples and Pyramids along with the spiritual and breath taking cenotes. Both the Mayans and the Yogas speak of a Universal connection of consciousness and acknowledge a more ancient connection between these two spiritual lineages. Katrina and Michael have been coming here for over a decade and Michael has studied with his Mayan teachers throughout the region. Michael will give a private tour of the Pyramids and Cenotes, sharing the cosmic connection between the Mayans, Yogis and many other sacred wisdom traditions that all link back to Atlantis.
Personal Expenses
Students are responsible for their own Flights to the Cancun Airport and airport transport. We will arrange for the airport pick-up and help coordinate your travel plans. All Breakfasts are include and some additional group meals. Students will have the options to go to the grocery store and utilize their fully equipped kitchenettes. You can also eat at the many local restaurants for any additional meals.

Additional Requirements
During the training, you will receive a 5-month Unlimited Yoga Membership at Karma Yoga Center. To complete your 300Hr Teaching Certificate you have additional requirements outside of the actual Training Immersion & Weekends. These requirements do not have to be completed by the end of the Training, they can be done in your own time. When all requirements are met, you will receive your 300Hr Yoga Alliance Certification.

Graduation Requirements & Workshop
Create and facilitate a 2-hour workshop at Karma Yoga Center that is open to the public sometime after graduation weekend. As a Seva, all proceeds for the workshop will be donated to charity or seva of choice. Students also need to fulfill all requirements for contact hours and non-contact hours for the program. This includes the 1-Day Immersion, Mexico Retreat, Modules 2-6 and all the Additional Requirements. Students must also adhere and comply to all the requirements in the Code of Conduct Manual.

Katrina Marie Gustafson
The mermaid of the mountains, Katrina Marie seeks the heights of the peaks and the depths of the oceans in her practice. Through the wisdom of the heart, her purpose is to help guide others to open their own. She has studied in the temples of India, the pyramids of Mexico, and in the crucible of modern life. She finds the sacred in the rhythm of the seasons, the stars, and every second of life.
As the owner and founder of Karma Yoga Center in Denver, she brings the Bhakti from all wisdom traditions to her yoga classes- singing, chanting, dancing, and journeys into the heart. Katrina fills every yoga session with love. She weaves in the teachings of her yoga mentor Saul David Raye and the cosmic knowings from the lineage of Evolutionary Astrology. She shares her life journey with her half-side husband Michael Shankara and her two boys Max & Bo.
Lisa Theis
Lisa’s journey with the practice of yoga began 18 years ago in a Bikram studio in San Francisco. What began as a physical and mental challenge to just stay in the room for the duration of class quickly became a deep and healing connection for her body, mind, and spirit, and eventually became a life’s passion and calling.
Though she has had many influential teachers, she is a dedicated student of Yogarupa Rod Stryker and follows the lineage of Para Yoga and Sri Vidya. Her classes strive to provide a space for each person to explore the effect of yoga in their own way and, while rooted in the methodologies of Para Yoga, are an amalgamation of all her teachers’ influences. Each class will include pranayama (breathwork), the exploration and experience of the energetics of asana (postures), mantra, visualization and intentional focus, and meditation.
Michael Shankara
Michael is a certified yoga teacher, Mayan Shaman, Priest, and Astrologer. Initiated into the sacred wisdom of the Maya, Michael is the sole apprentice under elder, priest and shaman Dr. Don Miguel Angel Vergara- former director of the sacred Chichen Itza Archeology Site in Mexico. Michael is also a musician and sound healer, providing live music for yoga classes, retreats, journeys and mediations at Karma Yoga Center. Michael is a certified Crystology Healer and studies Soul Astrology, Astronomy, and the Mayan Calendars. He offers Energy Healings and Astrology Readings that integrate his shamanic and yogic trainings. Michael & Katrina also provide a free videos series on the Fulls called the The Shaman & The Mermaid.
